So much to so, so little time.
The story of my life… I will be back with great deals etc. I just have to: try to negotiate a raise, throw a bridal shower and a bachelorette, have 2 birthday dinners, train for a 5k run, watch my little sister play baseball, go to a going away party…. all in the next 3 weeks. I will be back once I can find the way to the top of my “To Do” list!
If you are anything like me, it is hard to visualize what something will look like before you paint it. Those tiny paint chips never seem to do the colour justice, and never quite look the same when you are done. When we moved into our house 3 years ago we started renovating right away, and have painted every room in the house except 2 guest rooms.
I wish Benjamin Moore had this offer when we were starting out. You can print out this coupon and take it into a Benjamin Moore store for a FREE sample of paint. Now if only I had tried out the red for the living room before I actually started painting… man are Reds ever hard to paint…
Also don’t forget that painting and other renovations can go towards the Home Renovation Tax Credit.

I have to say that I am pretty impressed with swagbucks! It has just been a little over a month since I have signed up and I already have enough swagbucks to get at $5 gift card to amazon.ca. This is just from the regular searching I do on a daily basis, normally I “win” within the first 2 or 3 searches. If you are interested in starting to earn free rewards too you can sign up here. Now the hard part is going to be deciding what to get from amazon, I already have my eye on a couple of new books. Anyone else redeemed lately?
Collect Airmiles? Have you installed the airmiles toolbar yet? I installed this tool bar a few month ago, and have earn 90 airmiles so far! Not too bad for someone who normally only gets airmiles from the LCBO. You can earn 5 airmiles for every 50 searches you do, for a maximum of 30 airmiles per month, so for 300 searches you get you 30 reward miles. This is a great way to earn some extra miles without spending a penny.
I have it installed and do searches while watching TV shows online. I don’t find the results as good as swagbucks, but it is worth the time searching to get the miles. An extra 360 airmiles is almost a $50 Keg gift certificate, or $40 in groceries, not bad for spending a little extra time doing some online searching. Get you toolbar and start earning today.
(One note, if are doing online shopping and using referrals from other sites, such as redflagdeals, for cashback etc make sure it is compatible with the toolbar. Or you may only end up getting airmiles for your purchase and not the other rewards)
Zellers is having a great promotion when you buy Gillette, Crest , Head and Shoulders and more… When you buy $25 in participating products you will receive $10 gift card back, until August 31, 2009. A great deal when paired with coupons from the paper and save.ca for many of the products as well.
Go Here for more details for this promotion and to see all of the participating brands. Here is the rebate form. Enjoy!
Ahhh the cherished FPC (Free Product Coupon), I LOVE when you find these in the mail, or can send in for a special offer for one. There is nothing better then getting to try a product for free. Recently I have been able to use FPC for pledge products and Electrosol dishwasher tabs.
Babbling Brooke is having a give away for some FPCs on her blog, head on over to check it out and enter her excellent contest!
Do you have a visa card, I do and it gets a work out quite regularly. Well having a visa has certain perks associated with it, and they are all outlined on the VisaPerks website. It is a great site that is for Canadian shoppers (don’t worry, if you are going to the states there is a section for deals there too) that lists all of the great offers Visa has for when purchases are made with their card.
Shopping at Bluenotes, get a coupon for 15% off your purchase here
More of a Suzy Shier, there is also 15%off in store or on-line here
I have a ton of friends who are getting married and having babies, so the 20% off coupon for Carlton Cards will come in handy.
Head on over to VisaPerks to check it out and see what other great deals you can find!
Well my internship is coming to a close… It went buy so quickly it is hard to believe I have been working for 10 weeks already. At my midpoint evaluation (which went very well), I was asked if my job was something that I would like to “continue doing past July” which I said yes too. I am learning a lot in my job, and enjoy my work environment very much.
So this week I am meeting with my boss to discuss “opportunities” which are available in the department. I would likely stay in the same position, but *hopefully* get paid more. I am not sure how negotiations work in this type of situation, or any other for that matter, as I have never negotiated a salary before. I don’t think I am going to get a written offer, so I am not sure how it works. Depending on what they offer I may not try to negotiate at all, but hopefully I will keep up my nerve and try to negotiate a little. Any tips or hints for negotiations? Have you had a situation where you needed to negotiate?
You can try Second Cup’s newest addition to their menu, the Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie for just $0.99 (plus tax of course) between July 13th and 17th, 2009.
I enjoy second cup (way more then Starbucks!), and definitely think I will stop buy to try this out. It will be a great treat on a hot day (whenever we get one of those again!). What is your favorite drink at Second Cup?
